Welcome to the Hemel Hospital Radio website and thank you for taking an interest in our station. Our function is to provide entertainment to patients, staff and visitors of Hemel Hempstead General Hospitals.

We visit wards, encouraging family and friends of patients to make requests and dedications to their loved ones all helping to make their stay in hospital a little more bearable.

All of our members are volunteers, giving up their free time to present and produce programmes, visit wards, fund raise, maintain equipment and run the station. We are always looking for new members and would welcome any enquiries. Please complete the online application form and then leave the rest to us!

We bring the outside world to our patients bedsides and since the launch of our AM service in February 2001, we have had live outside broadcasts covering ‘Last Night at the Proms’ with Richard Baker, HM Band of the Royal Marines, jazz concerts, country music evenings, summer fetes, church services and carols sung by the local primary school children of Hemel Hempstead. We even broadcast a live gig from the Horn pub in St Albans.

Our organisation is funded entirely by sponsorship, donations, charity events and hiring out our PA and disco system to raise money so we can provide this service. If you can help in any way, please drop us a line.

Why not tune in now on 1350AM!

Ian Hames (HHR Chairman).
